As the Head of IT, you’re responsible for leading and managing our IT team towards our BHAG. You’re the senior leader in the development and implementation of information systems across the organization, including working with key developers and customers. The Head of IT is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

As the Head of IT, you have a clear view on how the IT organization must evolve to reach our goals and what you need to do to come there. You developing strategy and you are a true motivator to your team to make sure we reach our goals. The term “senior leader “ is something that everyone arounds you see and feel.

You have an independent role as senior manager and you report directly to the the Board of Directors. You see them as key stake holders, but you make your own judge.

 

Your role is around the following key areas:
Developing long-term strategic IT business plans based on the strategic route of the company
Developing teams in the right direction and guiding them daily in structured way
Bringing structure and inspiration towards your team
Managing expectations by key-stake holders in the company

 

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy

To create and maintain Information Technology & Management strategy in line with stakeholder needs and in keeping up with current best practice for our sector in the field of IT. You develop strategy which can be translated from vision to strategy to tactics to operations and you make this strategy immediately actionable.

Staff

To line manage and develop the Information Management team, working with them to plan and prioritise their workloads, set objectives, conduct appraisals and supported to continually improve their performance and results. Inspiring and developing culture in the right way by treating the IT department as your own company.

Development

To manage the further development and implementation of current projects like Database Structure, Server Management, Artwork Flow, CS Systems and many more . Specifically to manage:

  • the development plans for ongoing integration, upkeep and improvement of IT systems;
  • the commissioning of appropriate and cost effective procurement and contractual arrangements;
  • the management of project and system dependencies at planning, implementation and support stages;
  • the sign off for project management milestones for IT projects.

Implementation

To manage the day to day operations of IT systems, ensuring that planning, end-user impact, change management, training, quality management are properly addressed and monitored to ensure that deadlines, budgets and service levels are met and results delivered.

Supply management

To manage the relationships with (and between) external agencies and suppliers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial constraints and ongoing service is in-line with agreed contracts.

Budget

To manage the annual Information Management budget. Specifically to be responsible for the review, audit and prioritisation of all information management tools, including (in partnership with the CTO) the replacement cycle of information technology hard- and software.

Service

To organise and implement servicing and support of all IT systems to agreed service level standards. In particular:
to ensure training is provided on any new information management tools that may be introduced;
to monitor take up and use by staff and stakeholders;
to provide remedial support where necessary;
to work in partnership with the CMO and COO to ensure that s/he has the tools; required to manage the company’s channels.

Business continuity

To develop and maintain the Major Incident & Business Continuity plan for IT and to implement measures designed to safeguard the Information Technology and Management needs of the company in the event of major incidents or disasters.

Governance

To ensure Information technology and management are in-line with agreed strategy and policy. Essential Knowledge/Experience
Relevant degree and evidence of professional development in an IT role
Demonstrable experience and evidence of success in an information management role with multiple stakeholder groups
Formal project management training and experience
Knowledge of CRM data and database systems; understanding of data security and other compliance responsibilities
Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing relationships with suppliers and contractors
Previous line management experience
Desirable Knowledge/Experience
Experience of presenting to boards and executive teams
Experience in making long-term strategic business plans
Strong managerial capacities
Strong experience in developing and managing growing teams on a day-to-day basis
Highly computer literate; with Business Analysis skills
Ability to translate organisational direction into specific team and individual job expectations, managing performance through effective monitoring, coaching, and feedback
Resource management — has skills to Influence results through appropriate staffing, budgetary management and maximization of available resources

Demonstrably effective at providing timely, concise, audience-appropriate information orally and in writing
